It seems much too early for all the "signs of spring"! All the tulips have bloomed and are past peak. The lilacs opened in force today. Literally dozens of Painted Ladies, a Mourning Cloak, some yellow sulphurs, a Blue Hair, & other small pollinators were feasting. The milk weed is beginning to emerge. The fennel is about 12" tall and the Rue is growing, so there are host plants for the swallowtails. The temperature was in the 90's today.
