Lake Mille Lacs, in Mille Lacs and Aitkin Counties, Minnesota


"Early ice-out continues at a record pace for many Minnesota lakes.



Waves were lapping the shore of Lake Mille Lacs on Tuesday, the earliest ice-out on record and almost a month earlier than average. Anglers were ice fishing there as recently as last week.



'It went out really fast,' said Rick Bruesewitz, Department of Natural Resources area fisheries manager. "
