My 10 year old grandson has been observing monarchs for the last 5 years. He called to report that they are seeing many dozens of very fresh and brightly colored monarchs on the grounds of Poe Elementary in South Central Houston. He specifically said there were NO faded monarchs, but that colors were so bright that it was easy to sex them as they flew by.
