Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 04/04/2012

Number: 1

We have hummers year round. They are easy to keep in your yard with feeders and winter flowers that are protected from frost at night. We rarely have nights of 30 degrees or lower in Cave Creek. I will try to capture some photos to upload.

This one (ruby-throated) I’m certain of. They are here all year. Phoenix is very green, in spite of the drought, and every house has hummingbird feeders. I checked online for other information, and saw at least one map (Natl Geog) that showed Ruby Hummingbirds as regular residents throughout many areas of AZ.
