Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 04/04/2012

Number: 1

We are off today (04/09) for the Easter holiday. When we checked the map and the robin songs last week (estimated 04/04), a lot of the students recognized it and said they could hear them around their houses.
We can hear the robins singing.

They were probably wondering if they came back too early. We had a huge winter storm yesterday on Easter Sunday (04/08) that brought us 20cm of snow. It looked more like Christmas than Easter! We can still hear the robins singing today though.
Other signs of spring for us: buds starting on the trees, daffodils blooming and the river is wide open now. Hopefully the snow won't effect it too much. We are expecting rain the rest of the week.
We have seen 2 or 3 robins together, but no big groups yet.

See when this Northern Observation Post predicted first robin song!
