We're having great weather here in Driftwood.

Warm days in the 80's and overnight lows in the 60's not much rain for the past week or so.

Our natural milkweed in Central Texas is everywhere right now. believe it is Asclepias asperula.

We see it on our walks and I see it along the roadside and in pastures on my commute to work.

We walked to a patch this weekend and saw numerous monarchs, eggs and larvae in various stages.

We saw a female in particular that spent a long time on numerous plants depositing eggs, got a good picture of her.

We're still seeing about 15-20 monarchs a day at our house visiting our tropical milkweed.

The larvae are devouring our plants and we've got pupae in numerous locations around the house.

We found a few on our porch, one on a porch column and one under a coffee table.

We've seen a few very brightly colored monarchs and we assume those must be a new generation that has recently emerged.

We have a few that are just a few days away from emerging, we're looking forward to witnessing that amazing process.
