Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)

Date: 04/11/2012

Number: 1

On the road, at Nisqually NWR: In the afternoon’s heavy rain, a male rufous hummingbird darted through a tangle of salmonberry, zipping from flower to flower. I tried to get a photo, but he was too fast for me and was gone by the time I got the camera to focus. This was the same spot where I got photos last year of a male rufous hawking from a branch, but he did not stop to rest today.
