Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/14/2012

Number: 1

Lawrence, KS: If we see monarchs at all before May, it is usually between the 14th and 21st of April. So, the monarch I reported last Monday (4/09) was, like the vegetation, more than a bit early. Today, I saw two more; one at my house near Berryton, KS and another at Monarch Waystation #1 in mid afternoon. Both monarchs were bright and flew with vigor. Both views were at a distance but my guess is that both were males.
