I heard Sandhill cranes yesterday (4/13). I didn't see them but I'm sure I know where they'll be.
I had planned on going out this morning to see if I could find them, but got called to work at 4:00am.
You might not know this. They nest in the area. Actually we are right on the southern edge of their favourite nesting area. The bachelors hang out here in the fields. We see them all summer long.
Just an hour south they almost never see them in the summer. Only in the spring and fall.
