Very belatedly, I wanted to post that I saw this year’s first Monarch here in the park on Wednesday March 28. I was in the middle of doing a prescribed burn and paused to allow the female to meander out of the target zone before continuing to set the headfire. She looked pretty good, not tattered at all, so I suppose she was 1st generation for this year.
