We were on our cottage deck and heard Cranes. As we looked up there were approx. 13 White Birds above us .As they circled I observed them through binoculars and could clearly see the black on the wings.We consulted our Bird Book as I had not seen Whooping Cranes prior to this,and the combination of their sounds, which was very similar to the Sandhill Crane which we are very familiar with and the markings confirmed in our minds that they were Whooping Cranes.
