Number: 1

We live on 2 acres and maintain several dozen milkweed (Asclepias curassavica)plants around our house. Our home is surrounded by patches of purple prairie verbeena which is a magnet for butterflies in the spring. The adjacent fields and pastures of native milkweed (Asclepias asperula) which also grows wild in our backyard provides an ample source of additional food for hungry caterpillars.
