Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 04/22/2012

Number: 1

As we were eating breakfast, my husband looked out the door into the backyard and saw the most BEAUTIFUL Baltimore Oriole!!!! He was our first sighting this year. He was sitting atop a double shepherd's hook. I looked out a back window and saw him land on a hummingbird feeder that we had placed in that location yesterday. He tried two different times to drink nectar from the hummer feeder, but could not because of the bee guards. We hurriedly put out a large orange feeder of nectar for the orioles that I was preparing and failed to get it out before he arrived. We had placed two oriole feeders out with grape jelly and oranges several days ago, but we did not see him visit these.
