Saw a dead squirrel on the road and a bald eagle in tree above road approx 3:15 pm. My first thought was that the bald eagle wanted the freshly road killed squirrel--my next thought is that the bald eagle would get hit, too. I did a quick U-turn, grabbed my gloves, and took the squirrel off the road. By this time, the eagle had flown across the street, was watching me from another tree--I placed the squirrel on the wide shoulder, away from street. I then left so the bald eagle could come back for the squirrel--went by 2 hours later--squirrel gone. Could not snap a picture with my cell phone--sorry--I was so shocked when I realizedit was a bald eagle I was seeing that I didn't think to grab my iPhone.
