Although we reported our first Monarch 12 miles south of us 2 days ago, we now have them in our yard. Yesterday one faded adult was in the yard and today (4/25/12) we had 3 in the yard and acreage. All three individuals are faded yet very active and skittish. Its very windy today (20+mph) and it seems almost impossible to get near them for photos - they are staying within a fair sized wind break of American Viburnum and lilacs...occasionally landing but not staying put for long. We do have milkweed here on the acreage pastures and their leaves are just unfolding from the stem. It was 88 degrees today as it was yesterday as well.
