Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 04/20/2012

Number: 1

Our light plant operator, Rudy, saw the first Robin over by the light plant. About 1/2 hour later, we saw/heard our first Robin sitting atop a birch tree on the school yard around 4:00 pm after school got out, head held high and tootlie-DOOing at the top of his lungs. Since April20 we have seen very few Robins, maybe 3 or 4 but the ones we have seen are the brilliant red male first-comers. The first-comers are always so LARGE looking and striking in appearance! Along with the first Robins we've heard some Varied Thrush!
