Norm Murr reported a Monarch seen on the Toronto Islands today (April 25).
presumably directly from the Mexican wintering grounds.
Norman Murr is an expert birdwatcher who scours the Toronto Islands for birds regularly, and notes monarch sightings to me. Sunny, warmer afternoon yesterday. I am fully confident in his report. Must ask if he noted the wing wear.:
I didn’t notice if it was a fresh or worn butterfly but it did look bright and all in one piece. It was at some dandelions in the grass and we just walked past it.
