Sightings report image

Date: 04/21/2012

Number: 1

This bird was alone and no other black birds were in the area. I am also puzzled by his overall appearance because he has other red besides the two shoulder patches, including the underside of his tail and another patch above his shoulder? My wife saw the bird and photographed it, though not very clearly. She says that when it spread it's tail it glowed red. You can see in the photograph that it was between her and the sun. A nice picture of our Pecan tree but not so for the poor bird.

Editor's note: Bird ID is American Redstart
