All of our tulips except for one bloomed and that one never even sprouted. They bloomed starting on April, 16th through April 27th. On April 27th we went out to our garden to observe our tulips. We measured them and they had grown a lot taller! They ranged in height from 32 cm to 66 cm (except for the one that never even emerged, that one was 0 cm tall). Even though we had weeded our garden earlier, new weeds had grown and they were big and prickly. The pollen in the center of the tulips was like yellow powder. Some of the leaves looked like they had been eaten. Our tulips had 4-9 petals. We saw the stamens and the pistil. Most of us decided to dig our bulbs out of the ground and take our tulips home because we were suppose to have bad weather over the weekend. The tulip that never emerged had gotten soggy and rotten underground. The bulbs were kind of stinky and had white roots coming out of the bottom. We found a few earthworms in the soil as well. It was a cool and cloudy day on Friday.
