I was welcomed home tonight by a male Ruby-throated hummingbird! He was inspecting my two O'neil Red Horse-chestnut trees as they are just beginning to have their flower buds open. I brought 2 of the 3 feeders in and refilled them quickly with a fresh batch of sugar water and grabbed the big one after those two and did the same with it. He came to the feeder the second it was on its hook! And I had a wonderful show from two feet away! Good Luck to everyone this 2012 Hummbirding Season!
