5/2/12 58th and Ellis St Chicago,Illinois 60638 at 1:15pm to 2:15pm.74 F temp,overcast (had just finished raining in AM) winds W at 10 mph humidity 57 per cent. Saw 181 red admirals, 7 american ladies, 2 cabbage whites, 4 eastern comma, and 3 monarchs which appeared to be brand new looking (1 was in northern directional flight, the other 2 were females laying eggs in a stand of common milkweed on campus of the University of Chicago University / Hospitals where I work).My Common Milkweed at my house in Lansing,Illinois 60438 is now 2 inches tall.The other varieties of milkweed I have in my yard (swamp and others) are over 6 to 8 inches now.
