Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/06/2012

Number: 1

9:00 AM this morning I first heard a hummer but missed seeing it, but lo and behold at about 9:30 we had a male land on the feeder and spend considerable time feeding. He has returned several times to the feeder this morning! So, it would seem our local summer resident(s) have returned at around the same time as in other years, plus or minus a few days, and have completely ignored the fact that we have had an unusually early spring. We wondered if they would return early, but they seem to keep their own schedule!
