Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/05/2012

Number: 1

One of our students in our second grade class had a monarch fly right past him on his way down the slide at his grandma's house! It was big and very vibrant!

We do have milkweed in our area and it was a monarch that was seen!!! We have had reports of others in the area as well. I saw milkweed with eggs about two to three weeks ago. It has been unusually warm here this spring. My students have been very excited about your website and following the monarchs journey. They couldn’t believe that they were actually going to be a part of placing it on the map. I hope that our report will be placed on the map as a confirmed sighting. My class last year did the same thing at this same time of year and loved it. Last year we made our report around the end of May.
