I just identified a Swainson's Thrush that was taking several baths in the upper bowl of our bird fountain in the backyard as I watched a few feet away from a window in my house. I could hardly believe what I was seeing because I knew it was a new bird to me as I viewed it through my binoculars, which I quickly identified in my field guides.
