I spotted the bald eagle while sitting on a large boulder on the bank of the New River after a long hike. It swooped down about 50 feet from us along the riverbank. We tried to snap a photo, but it did not stay there long enough. We are confident in saying it was a bald eagle, however, due to its distinct coloring and the location of the sighting.
