Just got back from a trip to our field to see if the milkweed is up, and not only is it up, we saw at least three monarchs! I was able to catch one, it was a rather worn-out looking female. The milkweed is up about 6-8 inches and although they were hovering around the milkweed and clover, I did not find any evidence of eggs. I have never seen a monarch here before June. May 12 is really early.
