Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/17/2012

Number: 1

Even though we now have temperatures over 100 for several days, I still have 3 to 5 males patrolling the yard. They stay in the shade during the heat of the day. I also still have 12 4th and 5th instar larvae and they are doing well. The last three days a female monarch has been laying eggs and she is visiting all the different milkweeds in the yard. This morning there were two females ovipositing. Latest I've ever seen this here in the greater Phoenix area.
