Yesturday on western_monarchs@yahoogroups.com, Rob Santry, a highly experienced butterfly surveyer and photographer reported: "We live in the Redding area of Northern California and had one Monarch in our Garden on May 20th. I also saw one flying north along a mountain ridge in the mountains west of Redding, the next day."
