Really odd year. I can only hypothesize that the pair of hummingbirds that I observed at the feeder 6 or 7 weeks ago, was a winter pair. We now have the usual 9+ (hard to count when they are congregated around the feeders), chirping, chasing each other, etc.
From some reading on this site, it probably makes sense to move the feeders away from one another to reduce competition. Perhaps even purchase a third feeder as there are more birds than feeding stations currently.
