Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/16/2012

Number: 1

For the last couple of weeks, we've been seeing monarchs which is very rare, in the last 35 years, I've ever only seen about three. A couple of weeks ago, we had a horrible wind storm from the east, it was after that they showed up.....were they blown off course? We've enjoyed having them, but it's bittersweet because I don't think that we have milkweed here. Is it the only plant they'll lay their eggs on? And....do they chase birds? I swear on two occassions they took off after a couple of finches....
Thanks,Carrie
