Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/07/2012

Number: 1

"I hear that Monarchs were seen and even collected by Giovanny Fagua, Heather Bird and Bryan Brunet last Thursday (7 June) at both Holmes Crossing Sandhills Ecological Reserve and Clear Lake Natural Area. This might be the farthest north record for a Monarch for a long time (or at least ever since I saw one at Winston Churchill Park north of Lac La Biche in about 1977)."

Posted to Alberta Bugs by Felix Sperling, University of Alberta, and reported to Journey North by Don Davis.

Clear Lake Natural Area, AB
