It was 2:00 PM and a beautiful sunny day. Fluttering by across the Knob Hill P.S. playground in Scarborough, Ontario, was my first Monarch of the season. It headed south to the milkweed patch that we tend at the school. I couldn't tell if it was male or female, as it did not land or stay.
