On June 27th I observed a female Monarch resting in the morning sun on the top of a milkweed plant. She did not try to fly away when I moved in very close to observe her well-worn wings. She was not feeding, only resting very still and I observed her for 10 minutes, then she continued to remain in one place when I left. She looked as if she was tired and had just completed a very long journey. Her wings were transparent.
