5 Monarch butterflies observed within 5 minutes, feeding on a large patch of blooming milkweeds in a grassy field of public land a mile east of Lake Canandaigua, on a high topographical spot. All looked to be in perfect condition, so I do not know whether they had travelled a long distance (there were few storms in our region, as the drought was severe), or whether they had recently hatched.
