Reporting for Pam and Eric in Eustis, Florida. The attached image is by Lillian Stokes (Stokes Bird Guides), of Swallow-tailed kites, but the beauty is identical to what we saw this afternoon just 6-8 miles from our house. Eric and I counted 45 of these graceful gliders as the caught bugs in their talons and tore at them as they ate them mid-air. It was quite spectacular to watch them fill the sky over the fields at the north end of Lake Apopka. They are migrating down to South America for the winter.
