For the last full week I have noticed an unusual number of [butterflies] around. They are present in backyard gardens, on the golf courses and fields of clover as well as in open areas of nearby forests. Today I saw between 15 and 20 in a relatively small patch of clover.

Editor's Note: A large outbreak of Painted Lady butterflies was reported in this region, so we are assuming the same species.
