Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/14/2012

Number: 1

I have at least 4 larva munching away on my milkweed, all four are now chrysalis. I do keep an eye on these because I have problems with Wasp laying their eggs in the larva. the larva continue to chrysalis, than the wasp eggs hatch inside and continue to eat the monarch larva and the chrysalis starts getting black spots and slowly deteriorates. I have tried to get rid of wasp but they always return. I prefer to raise monarchs outside in natural environment. I have several types of milkweed, plus lots of other butterfly host plants.
