Sightings report image

Date: 08/19/2012

Number: 1

I was surprised to see one adult butterfly yesterday afternoon around 4:00 eating from my butterfly bush. I have seen many butterflies and moths this summer but this is the first monarch....hopefully i will see more, however I have woke this morning to lots of rain, so there won't be any butterfly sightings today.

Editor's Note: This is a viceroy butterfly, not a monarch, as told by the stripe that crosses the wings.
