Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/21/2012

Number: 2

Throughout spring and summer I have blackchin hummers. Then in Sept-Oct., they leave and rubythroat take their place for a couple of months before they, too, head south. This year the switch was earlier than usual. I saw a male rubythroat on the date given and have seen no blackchin this week. There was no lapse in time between the two species coming and going. The 2nd one of the two is a female and I do not know if it is a rubythroat or blackchin.
