Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 08/23/2012

Number: 10

Part of our wildlife habitat is managed for the hummingbirds--there are 18 hummingbird feeders that are providing nectar to our small guests. The males are still here. All hummers are participating in aerial displays and antics. Our summer residents usually leave September 6th. We always provide fresh nectar and maintain a few feeders until September 22, in case there are hummers that started their migration later, and usually have a few appreciative guests. It is a simple kindness that may help save a tardy bird's life. I encourage others to maintain at least 1 feeder for 3 weeks after your last sighting.
