Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)
Sightings report image

Date: 08/23/2012

Number: 2

Since May I have been watching 1 female ruby throated and 2 male ruby throated hummers chasing each other every day for the feeder! Quite the show! The fly all around in circles, zipping here and there, chasing each other away from the feeder. The female tends to be a little more passive and trusting and will sit on the feeder and eat...the males a little more skiddish. They don't like me being out there with them. They want it all to themelves! I do see them actually sit and partake every so often though. One male will feed from my hanging red petunia basket right in front of me! It is located on another porch away from the feeder. He goes there every day. These little birds are such a joy to watch, I miss them all winter.
