The hummers have been extremely active the 3 weeks or so. I was seeing 7 for a couple of weeks but now see 4 regularly. I have to feed them much more often than during the earlier part of summer. They are very possessive of my 3 feeders. They will sit and guard each one and when one moves or another arrives they start the chase. I have been able to hold one of my feeders by the string and feed at least one female feeder and sometimes had 2. I now can put the feeder in my hand and that way have them closer to me and feed them. The little femals will go all around the stations in the feeder even sitting and looking at me as she eats. What a special treat. I just hope they don't leave too soon.
