Initially, I did not consider this peak migration, but think now that maybe it is. On 8/24, I was able to tag 14 wild and 2 that I raised from eggs and released, and on 8/25 I was able to tag 33 wild and 1 raised from an egg and released. All wild ones were netted at my butterfly bushes and my neighbor's. This is many more than I have ever tagged in my yard. It was sunny and in the 80's, and most of them I netted in the late AM. There are more today... I suspect a roost somewhere, but have not been able to locate it. There are 6 or more out there this AM having breakfast with a Tiger Swallowtail (10 AM, sunny, around 80 degrees)...will cnotinue tagging after church if they are still here!
