I had a small cluster of monarchs this morning in the lower branches of an ash tree near my garden, 1 block from school. I counted 12 for sure, but there may have been a few more. Not a huge roost, but definitely a gathering.

There have not been any more visitors since Sat. I have been checking the area at school where we have observed them in prior years. We have a large number of blooming liatris so there are monarchs nectaring, but not nearly the number we had last year.
I monitor monarch larva with some students each summer and our numbers this year have been very low.
