I have averaged about one adult monarch sighting per day for the last 10 days or so. They are always nectaring on milkweed and mistflower. I have not yet seen a monarch lay eggs on my milkweed. I only see them in the late morning, around 9:00-10:30 a.m. and they are always mature, full-size adults.
I arrived back in Austin late August 15th, so I've been seeing a monarch per day since August 16th - August 28. I honestly don't know if the monarchs have been visiting earlier and if so, how much earlier. But I do know that I have seen one monarch per day since I've been home.
August 28
About an hour ago, I spotted a monarch on the ground in the corner of my backyard garden. I thought it was dead. As I got closer, I saw that there were actually 2 monarchs, but neither were moving all that much (at least not as much as the online videos of monarchs mating). I grabbed a couple of pictures.
