Upper 80's, warm, sunny, dry, not too humid -- FINALLY!!! 13 butterflies feeding on liatris. Since last report there have been 4-5 diligently feeding and today was the first time the numbers seemed on par with last year! They all look pretty 'new' so i'm guessing they are newbies rather than travelers from northern minnesota/canada. I'm REALLY happy to see more of them as I was concerned the weather this summer had done a number on them -- i'm hoping the liatris holds out until they decide to move on as blooms are 1.5-2 wks early...here's hoping!! from a boulevard garden on a busy urban street in southwest minneapolis! pm
