Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/22/2012

Number: 1

We were on vacation on Clearwater Lake in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. The cabin we were staying at had sugar provided and instructions for feeding the hummingbirds. As soon as my husband filled it, hummingbirds were zipping past our heads and feeding. They drained the feeder in a day and a half and we made sure that we filled it again before we left. At one time we had three feeding at the same time. This area is very wooded with multiples of lakes everywhere. On this same trip we saw a Bald Eagle. The only moose we saw was mounted on the wall in the lodge. We were told that it was to warm for them this summer. so they headed north. The hummingbirds were a delightful surprise. Our 2 year old granddaughter kept calling them bees.
