there were at least 20 hummingbirds this morning. I have three feeders and there was a hummingbird at almost every spot. In addition there were some flying around fighting. I had one especially bold hummingbird fly within 3 feet of me and make a display trying to chase me off. I also did some research on the correct ratio of sugar water and I discovered a study done by a scientist and PhD that was very enlightening. It broke the notion the mixture needs to be one fourth sugar three fourths water. I already fed a super concentrated liquid. In the scientific article there is no mention whatsoever of damage caused by a higher concentration in fact the higher the concentration the better for the bird http://www.hummingbirds.net/hainsworth.html
