Observed at Red Mountain Ski Resort, just out of town of Rossland:
large flocks of swallows gathering for the flight to south.Hundreds of them, mostly tree swallows, some rough winged ones , cliff and very few,2-3, barn. They were swarming around the buildings and electrical lines, alighting and landing in big swarms, chatting excitingly to each other all the time.Very special moment, made me feel sad that fewer and fewer of them come every spring. You can hardly get to see a barn swallow these days around here.
