While sitting in a chair reading, I felt the presence of something starring at me. It was my summer female Ruby-throated Hummingbird "telling" me she wanted her feeder filled NOW! I had been seeing her using the flowers in the yard since I returned home from vacation but because of the heat and the oldness of sugar water I had made earlier in the summer I did not put it out. I made fresh and put it out the next morning. So far the level has not gone down and I have not seen her since. So now I am in the "void" period betweenmy summer hummingbird and the arrival of the first fall hummingbird to pass through. And it is only a 2month more wait to see if Baby Girl comes back.
